11/6/07

An empire is built upon pillows of rose and red
Walls expand and spread
The retention of water sleeping in its bed

It is quiet as the waves ebb and flow
Murky fog gathers from down below
Peacefully the empire continues to grow

Luna’s push and pull gradually intensifies
As blood will finally start to crystallize
Soft tissue is swollen with love and light

Everything is gained only to be lost
The empire falls monthly at very little cost
Rivers of blood run where there once was frost

Beautiful colors emanate like rays from the womb
Days and days of preparation now make room
For a healing release as the butterfly sheds her cocoon

A gift of the universe and nature alike
Insist that we embark on our routine hike
Only shadows will exist if we give up this fight

I love this poem. This is by far my favorite. It really seems like a different direction. I love the use of the word and subject "empire" to represent menstration, the womb, and just what goes on inside of our bodies as women. I love you and you are my emperess (sp?)
I love you amore.

Wow well...

First time I've heard this expressed in that way. Blood is such a singular substance. It's what we can all relate too and, to have it given a completely new spin. It's refreshing, I really liked this piece.

The flow of your words here is beautiful. It feels more like a requiem of a lifetime rather than a poem. I may not exactly be able to relate, but you certainly help me understand. Nice work...I miss you!!!!

:-) Thank you for an incredible comment! I miss you too.. when can we talk next? What have you been up to lately?

Beautiful as always sis, I love the flow. The rhymes seem very natural, flowing along like... well, life.

Anyway, how are you? I miss you... hope all is well. It is on this end. Love you :)
